River Cottage Wedding
Made famous by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s adventures on Escape to River Cottage on Channel 4 in 1999 the infamous cottage played host to Nick and Laura’s poignant and delightful wedding. With an exclusive party of immediate family and friends the sun was very shining all day. With the couple staying in the cottage the night before, in separate rooms of course, there was no excuse to be late for their wedding day.
The outdoor ceremony started when Laura walked up the garden on her own in a fairy-tale wedding dress to an awaiting groom who was clearly feeling emotional. They exchanged some incredibly heart felt vows and finished the ceremony with the lighting of a unity candle. With the knot tied, lawn games and Pimms followed in the gardens which were bathed by the sun. The party retired back to the cottage for the wedding breakfast which as you can imagine from River Cottage was food on another level! With the staff turning the room for the first dance the wedding party settled in the yurt for tea and coffee before returning to the cottage for the cake cutting and dancing which went on to the early hours.
