MYTHS ABOUT
WEDDING VIDEOS
1. Wedding videos are boring and you only watch them once.
This may have been the case years ago, but the production values of wedding videos have improved no end over the last 10 years. A good wedding video will be more like a film and couples do watch them over and over again as it’s a great way of remembering their day.
2. Wedding videographers spend most of their time filming the ceremony.
Not true. They will film the ceremony because its actually the main part of the day, but they will film across the whole day, not just the ceremony.
3. The music in videos is never good quality
Not true. Wedding videographers pay for access to extensive audio libraries where they choose the best music to suit their wedding films. Because it comes from a library the music will have all the correct copyright licenses, so your wedding film is perfectly safe to use on social media.
4. You don’t need to hire a wedding videographer at all!
This is true but you might regret it afterwards. A video is a great visual record of the day that you can watch time and time again. You can also share it with friends and family who couldn’t attend.
5. Wedding videographers and photographers can’t work together
They can work together very easily as they both have a job to do, and they respect each other’s roles. A bit of common courtesy goes a long way so it shouldn’t be a problem.
6. Wedding videos are overpriced
Although on the face of it the cost is in a similar region to the photographer the workload after the wedding is probably more. Aside from the 10 hours filming on the day is the pre-planning they will do and of course the massive editing job to create four films. They have to sift through the footage they took and work out the best way to portray the day. The editing process can last a week so when you factor in the hours, plus the cost of the equipment it’s not overpriced at all.
7. Video is a luxury add on
Is a lasting memory of your wedding day really a luxury? Isn’t it a necessity? The day will go by so quickly chances are you won’t remember much of it, and you certainly won’t see everything that happens. This is where video comes into its own. Helping you remember your special day.
8. Video is not discreet
Depending on who you choose to film your wedding video can be very discreet. Filming a wedding doesn’t have to include a ton of equipment, lights, screens and lots of bulky equipment. A lot of videographers use the most minimal of equipment to help them be discreet.
